In our day to day life, everyone does something to reach their goals. We all want to accomplish more by the end of the day. Yet something remains to be done. We squeeze our day like fruit to get more juice out of it.

A few years back, I was in the same situation. I started doing my work in the morning and work for 10 to 12 hours straight and by the day end, I was not satisfied with my work. I feel as if I have not completed much.

Then I started to read some books and articles about these. And the most important thing I did was start applying my learning in my daily routine. Most of the people read books and articles, watch self-help videos and that's it. They never apply them. So they stay where they are.

I started to apply these small changes and improve them over time until it seems perfect. From there on I still follow this process daily.

You will be surprised that by applying those little changes, not only I am getting more things done by the end of the day, but also I had plenty of free time now. In which I do the thing I love. Now I sleep well at night knowing that I did well today. Here is the list of them.

Have Picture Perfect Goals

Have specific goals. It could be anything. For example, I will read 48 self-help books.
Have a clear timeline for each of them. For example, I will read 48 self-help books by 31st Dec 2020
Divide them into Yearly goals, Monthly goals, Weekly goals, and Daily goals.
Write it down. And see them every single day.
Write down the purpose of the goal if you need to

Night :

Pre-plan your work the night before
Planning is the key.
Create a ruff plan for tomorrow
Write it down. I do it with a pen and paper. You can do it with a To-Do list app.
Ensure that at least one task is goal-related.
Limit yourself to three goals. No more than three.
In those three goals prioritize them. The first one is the "High Priority" task. The second task is the "Medium Priority" task. And the last one is the "Low Priority" task.

Morning :

Review the tasks before start working on them.
Define a timeline for each task.
Add some margin time for each task. You know sometimes it takes more time than we think.
Do your "High Priority" task early in the day, before you do anything else.
Break your task in smaller chunks. It will simplify your work.
When you do one of your Most Important Tasks, be sure to single-task focus on that task only.
By starting early in the morning, you can complete your work early. And have free time for yourself later.

Tips for Work :

Less the distraction, More Quality work.
Mobile in silent mode.
No social media during the work.
Disable all the notifications. (Browser, Slack, Skype, etc.)
Check your email twice or thrice a day. I prefer one time in the morning before starting my work and in the evening before concluding the day.
Have an uncluttered work desk. Only have required things on the work desk.
50-10 Rule. 50 mins work and 10 mins break.
Go for walk outside for a few minutes.
If you feel stressed lay down on your back.
Stretch your body whenever you can.
If you like you can listen to relaxing music while working. I prefer lo-fi music while working.

Evening :

Review your day and tasks.
How much you have completed?
Which actions were helpful and which were not helpful?
Analyze your-self. It hardly takes 5-10 mins.
You can improve your routine by doing these things.

Start doing these things and you will achieve wonders.

P.S. Don't cut the trees. Plant more trees.
