This is my first post. Very confused what should I write about?

Then I think of the city I lived and I have been brought up.
The city I love the most in the world. It's Surat.
Surat is famous for many things.

People called it city of bridges, city of food, city of textile, silk city of India, city of diamond, green city etc.

If you are foodie like me then this city is Heaven for you.

It is the 8th largest city and 9th largest urban agglomeration in India.

Surat will be the world's fastest growing city from 2019 to 2035, according to a study conducted by Economic Times.

Surat always been in top 5 cleanest city of India.

Surat's Municipal Corporation is regarded as one of the most dynamic, dedicated, organised Municipal Corporation in India.

The people of Surat a.k.a "Surtis" are known to be warm in nature, fun loving and friendly attitude. The Surtis celebrate almost every single festival with great pomp and fervor.

We know very much about surat and it's achivements in it's present time.
But very few us know about surat's history.

As per the ancient texts and vedas surat is also known from these names.
Surajpur, Bhanu kshetra, Kantar Pradesh, Surya Nagari means "The City of Lord Sun".

Recently I read "Tapi Purana" Here is the story as per Tapi Purana why it's called "City of Sun"

Saint Kapila did sadhana over here. Also donated kapila cow while doing his sadhana. Lord sun delight by his sadhana. Lord sun granted him boon. And Saint Kapila ask Lord Sun to Stay at this place forever. Lord sun granted his wishes and stays here.
That's why it's called "Kantar Pradesh" The Place where Lord Sun reigns his kingdom.

As some of you know the Tapi is the daughter of Lord Sun. That's why she refered as a "Surya Putri Tapi"
As per the vedas and purana Tapi is the first river (oldest river) on the earth.

Tapi's age considered as "21 Kalps"

When you combine
Satya yuga + Treta yuga + Dwapara yuga + Kali yuga = "chokdi"
71 chokdi = 1 Manvantar
12 Manvantar = 1 Kalp

As you see it's quite a long time.
River ganga's age is considered as 9 Kalps.
River Reva a.k.a Narmada's age is considered as 7 Kalps.
There is one shloka in purana which goes like this

गंगा स्नाने , यमुना पाने ।
रेवा दर्शने, तापी समरणे ||

Which means
By taking bath in Ganga you became sacred, auspicious and holy,
By sipping water of Yamuna you became sacred, auspicious and holy,
By watching the Narmada you became sacred, auspicious and holy and
Just thinking about Tapi or calling it's name you became sacred, auspicious and holy
River Tapi's significantion is way more higher then all other rivers, because tapi is the oldest river.

Also there are so many stories associate with lord rama, lord krishna, panadavas, karna, lord shiva, lord parasurama in vedas and purana related to surat.

Proud to call my home this sacred, auspicious and holy city.
